Jenna slipped into the chair behind her desk, and began sifting through the data the computer supplied her with on the planet and people of Pride Landia. She frowned slightly, the information she was supplied with was lacking.
With a tap of her LCARS terminal, she accessed the ship's comm array, and sent a request to the Pride Landian government for information on their dietary needs, likes, dislikes. She also requested an approximate number of the party they would be bringing aboard.
Once the request was sent, she transferred the known data to a pair of PADDs. One for her, one for the yeoman that had yet to arrive.

She read the data sent to her from the Pride Landian King, himself. Bouncing slightly in her chair, she downloaded the data onto the pair of PADDs. Once completed, she glanced over to the chrono on her wall, and frowned.
With a tap of her combadge, she activated in intra-ship communications. "Cadet Roberts, please report to the Ambassador's office immediately."

With an audible sigh, she stood from the chair, and made her way out of the office. Her next destination was O'Malley's 'Dew Drop Inn'; to inform the proprietor, and clear it with him at the same time. And to make sure they didn't need to pick up any foodstuffs on the way out there.

Of course she'd been torn about leaving the briefing room. The Captain might have more need for her. Well maybe she could go real fast like and slip back in when the Lt. Commander was done with her.
She ran for it. Full out. And slapped at the turbo wall to make it move faster.
Bolting out, she nearly ran the Diplomatic Officer over. "You requested my presence, Ma'am?"

She suppressed a frown as she looked over the Cadet. Jenna looked the young woman over, considering her for a moment, before smiling. "Captain Rowland said you could help me; I'm working on preparing a meal and the outline for the potential diplomatic talks." A PADD was offered to the Cadet.
"There's a copy of everything I could get from the diplomatic corps; perhaps it will help you with your report to the Captain. Most of the help I need from you is setting up the dinner the Captain wants to hold. Are you in?"

One of the major factors that made Annie Roberts perfect for her job was her ability to comprehend at a glance most written reports. It was part of what made her such a good researcher and secretary.
So she didn't exactly 'read' the PADD, she put her eyes on it, and had the gist of the contents.
"Yes Ma'am, I'm in. Just tell me what you want done, and I'll do it."

She caught the young woman's glance, and nodded slightly. Either she was good, or incompetent. "I'll take care of setting up their quarters, and clearing the use of the Dew Drop with whomever I need. I'd appreciate it, if you could make sure we have enough meat to feed a group of carnivorous animal/man hybrids."

Carnivorous animal/man hybrids, whew, now that had to be something. She pictured hungry Klingons and figured she could handle it. "Raw, and various states of cooked, less cooked, the better I'd bet." She nodded quickly. "Anything else?"

She considered the question for a moment, before adding on. "Fruits and vegetables, too. They aren't entirely carnivorous. Oh! The Pride Landian Empire has been closely related to the Klingon Empire; so, perhaps any Klingon dishes we might have on board. Or any easily made, could be a potential bonus."

"On it," she said brightly, and with an equally bright smile she twirled on one foot and went off, mentally ticking away things in her mind, the PADD clutched in her hand. She didn't make notes, not yet. When she had fully formed her thoughts, she would began the itemization, not for her sake, but for anyone she might work with.
Skull stew might be an idea for a dish. And throat stew, that was a must for carnivores. Vermicula and, hmmm ... the chances of finding Pipius in the ships stores seemed pretty minimal, but she would add it to the list.
